Many of our K9 trainers have prior experience in both law enforcement and the military in the United States and in Europe.
At Southern Hills Kennels, we employ people who have a passion for working with K9s. Caring for each dog as if it were their own, our staff have produced some of best detection dogs in the field.
For a good canine handler, this is not merely a job but a lifestyle and a career.
We employ 7 canine handlers whose professionalism and knowledge of what makes a good instructor, coupled with our hands-on training seminars, means the K9 dog and handler teams we train go on to become very successful in the field.
Kevin Laing - Head Trainer
Kevin has trained dogs for more than 10 years, producing over 600 dogs for drug detection, bomb detection and dual purpose. Some of his military dogs are currently working in Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Kevin has also conducted seminars locally and internationally.
Well-respected by his peers, Kevin is chief judge for the American Detection K9 Association.
He brings a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to share at the K9 training classes.
